This pair of tapered cabinets are constructed of Jumu and cypress, in Ming style, have wooden
hinges and round corners where two doors are fitted in round grooves up and down and
removable. The feet of the cabinet are square and splay outward. Upper width of the cabinet is
smaller than lower width. The copper fittings are fitted at the top with two knobs on which to
hang a lock, while pulls are suspended at the bottom...

This dressing case is typically Ming furniture, constructed of cypress, having a base with
drawers, which are behind doors, and a top consisting of a lidded tray.  It has flat top,  solid
front with original brass hinged doors, stable base and original dark red lacquer. The top of the
lid lifts and the two doors open to reveal a tray like section with several drawers below it. The
tall proportions, fine brass hardware, and graining of the wood, especially that of the doors,
